Heart of a Volunteer
“The heart of a volunteer is never measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” - DeAnn Hollis
Greetings HH community! I wanted to take a moment and provide you some of my background.
I was born, raised in USSR and got education in modern Russia. I moved to the US in 2002 following my heart and shortly after that became first generation U.S. citizen. I am seasoned military spouse and mama of three wonderful son’s ages 15, 13, 5. We weathered two overseas assignments, 7 moves across country, multiple sea duties and long term deployments.
I always had passion in helping people. Hope for HH foundation is dear to my heart. I am delighted to become a part of the volunteer force and bring my skills set as well as experience to International Outreach Committee. I believe it is important to spread the wings of Hope for HH globally, to unite caregivers in different countries, to bring recognition to rare diagnosis, to ignite multidisciplinary researches.
When our first born child finally received correct diagnosis my husband and I wanted to learn about hypothalamic hamartomas (HH) as much as we can from different sources online. While searching for answers we came across and joined amazing community of parents supporting each other. We received important to us at that moment sense that we were not alone, that there were genuinely interested people willing to share their journey. We are forever grateful.
I would like to step in and keep the ball of good deeds rolling whether that would be encouragement to families or assistance with collecting important data from remote corners of the world. My goal is to see more smiles, less suffering and make hearts beat faster from happiness.
