We are Mark and Kristy, first time mom and dad to Brett, age 18 months. We are relatively new on our HH journey, as Brett was diagnosed at 10 months. From the day of our diagnosis, Hope for HH has been our lifeline for support and information. We are so thankful to have found such a community of individuals to share information about their journey, as well as medical information to help us educate ourselves in order to make the best informed decisions for our son. Hope for HH provided us with a direct link to up-to-date information regarding Brett’s extremely rare condition that a Google search could not provide. When reading about Brett’s condition and potential prognosis, there is nothing more helpful and comforting than knowing that we are not alone in our journey.
We realize that Brett’s diagnosis will be a lifelong journey. As such, Hope for HH will be a community that we will be a part of for a long time. We wanted to share our expertise and skillset with this amazing community that has already given us so much.
A Little About Kristy:
Kristy is a full-time homemaker. Before Brett was born, Kristy worked in the field of special education for 20 years. Over the course of Kristy’s career, she worked with students from the ages of 2-21 and across all disability categories. We are so excited to have Kristy’s expertise and passion on the Information Committee. She’ll be helping to develop new content on the website and blog.
A Little About Mark:
Mark works in the medical field as a Regional Director of Operations and his experience has led him to both the private as well as his current role in a hospital setting. Mark also assists on a board of directors for a local nonprofit, specializing in hippotherapy, as well as volunteers in local high schools teaching budgeting to seniors through the Junior Achievement programs. Mark will be joining the Operations Committee and helping us continue to be a strong and effective organization helping the Hope For HH community.
